Angus Roche is a Sydney-based editor and edit assistant, experienced in Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer and Da Vinci Resolve. Originally from Melbourne, he began editing professionally in 2014 before relocating to Sydney in 2016 to study at the Australian Film Television and Radio School. He now has ten years’ experience cutting branded content as well as a variety of comedy, drama and documentary shorts.
With a background in music and specifically drums, Angus brings a precise pace and rhythm to his cuts as well as a strong awareness of sound design. Known for his obsessive organisation and meticulously colour coded timelines, he particularly enjoys cutting performance-driven drama and constructing a narrative from interviews.
Angus cut his first feature in 2018, an 85-minute documentary titled “Two Wolves”, which premiered at Antenna Documentary Film Festival. He has also worked as an edit assistant on several indie features and in 2021 completed a nine-month contract assistant editing on feature documentary “A Fire Inside” at Finch, which had Sydney Film Festival premiere and national theatrical release. He recently spent two and a half years editing the 4WD 24/7 youtube channel full-time, which hit 1 million subscribers during his time there.
Outside of work he is passionate about meditation, chess, and Aston Villa football club.
